OK, so I learned that there were diamonds in the sidewalk in New York City! But who can afford to fly there these days? If only there were diamonds, or, rubies, or emeralds in the sidewalk right here in Portland? Well... it turns out there is!! Who knew?

As fate would have it the portland sidewalk loot is under the sidewalk, which sucks compared to it being on top like cupcake sprinkles Back East. I have a metal detector, the only problem is it's old and it takes like 12 D cell batteries. That's practically as much as the plane ticket. I think you can get a new detector from China for less than the batteries, so I'll be looking in to it.
